The more input we get from the Bennett citizens, the better the commission and city can serve the community. There is always a need for blood donations and we need your help. On Saturday June 9th from 8:00 am to 11:00 am Peace Church of Christ United will be sponsoring a blood drive at Fellowship Hall located at 414 Maple Street. After another long winter, we are looking forward summer and Memorial Day is a great reminder that it is here. In addition to the warm weather, BBQs and family fun this holiday brings schedule changes. The City Hall will be closed May 28th and garbage pickup will be pushed to Tuesday, the 29th.

We replacing a party for next years Bennett 135th Anniversary and you can help by attending the Community Club's upcoming planning meeting. It will be held on Wednesday May 16 at 6pm in the Bennett Ambulance Building. The more help the better the event will be. We hope to see you at the meeting.
Peace Church will be having their annual Rummage Sale on May 17, 18 and 19 from 8-1. It is alway a great opportunity to find a bargain or two, see your fellow Bennettonians, and maybe even get a something sweet to eat.
We are happy to announce the City of Bennett has now established a Parks Commission. Lets give a special thanks to this volunteer group for their work is another small step in keeping Bennett the great community we love.

Looking for your Bennett perspective. Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Tuesday, April 17, to discuss the extension of seven and replacement of four box culverts on Iowa 130 from 0.1 mile east of Scott County Road F-31 to 2 miles north of Scott County Road Y-40.
Through traffic on Iowa 130 would be detoured during construction using Scott County roads F-31 and Y-40.
All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. The meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. Iowa DOT staff will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvements. No formal presentation will be made.

From time to time the City Council review current systems in place to make sure we are in position to serving the community in an effective, efficient, and economical sustainable manner. This means giving you the services you expect, like water, sewer, and waste pick-up that is sustains high quality and safety for the future. If changes are required it will be reflected through made an amending the existing City Ordinances. Last week City Council voted to make such changes regarding our water and sewer operations.
